Pregnancy and insomnia
Date added: 08/04/09
One of the most common pregnancy complaints is insomnia. Many women complain that they have difficulties sleeping or they wake up several times during the night. This may be due in part to normal anxiety about having a baby but also sometimes can be due to the physical discomfort that can occur in late pregnancy.
As the uterus grows it may be difficult to find a comfortable position. One tip is to buy a huge pillow or try putting a pillow between or under your legs.
I would also advise, having warm milk before bed, avoiding heavy meals near bedtime, evening walks after dinner, warm baths and regular exercise.
